At Walmart, we’re always looking for ways to make associates’ lives better. It’s been a priority since our founding, and as we continue our plans for the New Home Office campus, associates’ wellbeing is at the center of our decision making. Which is why it feels especially fitting to start the new year with the grand opening of Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness.
Opening Jan. 12, 2024, the more than 360,000-square-foot Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness is a pioneering, purpose-driven facility with robust programming and resources to support the mind, body and spirit of associates and their households. This new facility honors the legacy of the Walton family that dates back almost 40 years when Sam and Helen Walton gifted the Walton Life Fitness Center to associates and their families, a commitment that was reaffirmed with their support of the construction of both Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness and the Children’s Enrichment Center.

We have taken a purpose-driven approach to the entire campus’ design, with associate input driving key decisions. Delivering on our “live better” promise begins with associates, and this was especially important for Whole Health, which will positively impact the lives of 31,000+ individuals annually!
We listened to our associates and invested in amenities that they care about most including healthy dining options, fitness classes, recovery services, nutrition kitchen, education and connection spaces, and meditation gardens just to name a few. In addition to the new space and amenities, we continue to evolve health and wellness offerings to ensure we are supporting every aspect of associates’ lives – inside and outside of work, including virtual health care benefits, doula services, family building benefits and mental health resources.
We can’t wait to welcome associates, families and visitors to what is sure to become a favorite part of our new campus.
