Early this summer, Walmart announced InHome Delivery, our latest innovation aimed toward giving time back to families by delivering fresh groceries and everyday essentials directly into their kitchen or garage fridges. Today, for the first time ever, we’re thrilled to launch this new service for over 1 million customers in Pittsburgh, Kansas City (Missouri and Kansas) and Vero Beach.

We’re obsessed with simplifying grocery shopping and finding ways to make our customers’ lives easier. That’s why InHome goes the extra step so that our customers can live their lives without worrying about making it to the store or being home to accept a delivery.

All it takes to use the service is three simple steps:

  1. Customers across Kansas City, Pittsburgh and Vero Beach can head to InHome.Walmart.com and see if their address is eligible.
  2. Next, you choose either the kitchen or garage fridge as your delivery spot. It’s $49.95 for the corresponding smart device, and free professional installation is included!
  3. Once the lock is installed, you’ll receive unlimited deliveries for the introductory price of just $19.95 per month ($30 min per basket). And your first month is on us. We’re sure you’ll love InHome, but just in case it doesn’t work for you, you can cancel or pause at any time.

At the time of delivery, associates will use smart entry technology and a proprietary, wearable camera to access the customer’s home – allowing customers to control access into their homes and giving them the ability to watch the deliveries remotely.

With InHome Delivery, we’re putting more well-deserved time in the hands of our customers. Take Laura, a mom of three in Kansas City with a full-time job as a graphic designer. Laura loves baking banana bread with her kids but doesn’t have enough time to shop for the ingredients after work and get it out of the oven before bedtime. Now, with InHome Delivery, Laura can order all the ingredients she needs and have them delivered directly into her fridge while she’s at work – no more late-night trips to the store or taking time out of Sunday afternoons with her family.

Bringing this service to Kansas City, Pittsburgh and Vero Beach is just the first step for InHome Delivery and an important part of Walmart’s overall promise to leverage our unique assets to serve customers in ways that only Walmart can and innovate for the future. It is a natural complement to our existing suite of grocery options, from shopping in store to Grocery Pickup and Delivery, including our recently expanded Delivery Unlimited membership. We’re looking forward to building on our already exceptional service in these markets through InHome Delivery and bringing this offering to even more customers in the months to come!
