Supplier Inclusion

To help our customers save money and live better, Walmart seeks vendors of all sizes to offer the products and services they need. When suppliers grow with us, everyone benefits, including their communities. Often, suppliers need the most support when they’re starting out or when they’ve decided to take their business to the next level. That's why we focus our Supplier Inclusion efforts on small businesses, providing support when they start out or aim to grow.
Supporting Small Businesses
Small businesses are the foundation of our U.S. Supplier Inclusion program. We want to help them hit their stride by fostering meaningful connections, fueling growth and unleashing their full potential.
For Walmart and Sam’s Club, U.S. small business means a company that meets the U.S. Small Business Administration (U.S. SBA) Industry Size Standards through a voluntary SBA Certification or is verified through an internal verification process as meeting these industry size standards.
Competitive Program for U.S. Small Businesses
Our competitive program provides resources for U.S. small businesses to benefit from our vast network and scale. This program helps suppliers grow alongside us and helps us attract and retain future suppliers and sellers, all while meeting our customers' needs.
The U.S. Small Business Program is comprised of:
- Supplier Academy with U.S. Small Business Curriculum
- Voluntary Supplier Certification or Verification
- U.S. Small Business Supplier Resources and Tools
- Supplier and Seller Discovery Opportunities & Events
Complementing U.S. Manufacturing Goals
Our U.S. Small Business Program complements our U.S. Manufacturing commitment by unlocking additional opportunities for entrepreneurs to work with Walmart and Sam’s Club.
Certification and Verification
Suppliers that have attained U.S. Small Business Administration certification or its equivalency to industry size standards via an internal verification process are eligible to participate in our U.S. Small Business Program. Suppliers are also welcome to share other voluntary certifications they have attained; however, being certified has no bearing on Walmart’s or Sam’s Club’s decision to do business with a supplier.
Training and Mentorship
Training, mentorship, and/or any elective special finance programs prioritize U.S. small businesses. Larger businesses not meeting our small business qualifications will continue to have access to our standard tools, training, and finance programs.
"Walmart believes in the power of entrepreneurs to drive economic growth and create jobs, and that’s why we launched our new U.S. Small Business program. Including smaller businesses in our supplier base enables us to offer shoppers an even wider selection of high-quality products at great prices. Our customers love discovering new products and brands, while supporting small, local businesses. This new program helps provide entrepreneurs with resources, training and a network to succeed."
