Editor’s Note, Feb. 18, 2025: We have replaced all references to "campus" with "New Home Office" to reflect our new 350-acre workplace.
Today marks a moment I’ve been dreaming about for years. After lots of planning, groundbreaking ceremonies and hard hat tours, we’re celebrating the opening of our New Home Office in Bentonville. And wow, what a place it is.
Countless people poured their hearts into this project to create something extraordinary for our associates and our community. In fact, associates have managed more than 8 million project hours to date – and are expected to reach 10 million by the time it is fully complete.
This isn't just a workplace; it's a nod to our proud past and our bright future, sparking innovation and community. It’s a world-class workplace, Walmart style – one that genuinely mirrors our core values and mission, respects our legacy and fuels our future.
Built with associates, for associates
Associate voices shaped every element of the New Home Office. Throughout our journey, we listened to thousands of ideas, suggestions and dreams to create a space that truly serves the people who bring Walmart to life. Their input, on everything from design features to wellness offerings to eateries of choice, has been invaluable.
“My building has sparked a whole new excitement to coming into work. We’ve got upgraded parking, new work equipment, custom artwork, tinted windows and more! I’m also excited for 8th & Plate. We’ve previewed some of the food, and I can confirm it’s delicious!"
Katelyn, 3-year associate
We’re also excited to announce a host of street front retail shops, which include: Bentonville Bicycle Company, Flyway Brewing, Gearhead Outfitters, The Gents Place, Hatch Early Mood Food, Jamba Juice, Riserva Bar + Tapas, Swig, Walmart Pharmacy, Wright's BBQ and Yokozuna Sushi. Watch for these locations to open in the coming weeks and months!
“I’m thrilled to have top-quality, affordable childcare on campus. My child is already enrolled in Little Squiggles and loves it. But knowing he will just be a quick stroll across campus? It will offer the perfect mix of convenience and peace of mind.”
Andrew, 10-year associate
Whether it’s natural light flooding every corner, convenient parking options, fitness and childcare facilities, or expanded food choices at 8th & Plate, the goal was simple: to create a workplace where associates can thrive. The New Home Office is proof of what’s possible when we put people first.
Smart, sustainable design
Sustainability and technology also played key roles in every decision. Our New Home Office is designed to reflect a sustainable future with buildings constructed from mass timber – the largest application of its kind in the U.S. – and designed to achieve LEED Platinum standards.
Half the campus is green space, with more than 750,000 native plants, including 5,000 planted trees. It’s a love letter to Northwest Arkansas. With seven miles of walking and biking paths, over 1,000 bike parking spots, 300 EV charging stations and a rentable bike fleet, transportation gets a sustainable upgrade. Plus, cutting-edge smart building technology, including dynamic glass that reduces energy use, drone-assisted window cleaning and autonomous lawn care embody not only our focus on innovation but also, the regenerative future we’ve been building toward for decades.
Here's to what’s next
With the New Home Office, we’re redefining what it means to be a winning workplace, and we’re weaving wellness, connection and community into every experience. I was one of the first members at Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness. I’ve sampled the food at ALL 12 eateries at our 8th & Plate food hall. I also love to walk the miles of landscaped pedestrian promenades, and I anxiously await the opening of our bike-over Onyx coffee along the Razorback Greenway.
The New Home Office truly is a testament to what we can accomplish together. It’s more than just a place to work – it’s a space to thrive, dream big and shape the future of retail. I can’t wait to see all the memories, milestones and ideas we’ll build here in the years to come.
Here’s to new beginnings, rooted in our legacy and reaching for the future.
