Empowering women creates shared value: it’s good for society, and it’s good for business.
Walmart has set ambitious goals to improve the lives of millions of women around the world through our Global Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Initiative. Through this initiative, we have increased sourcing from women-owned businesses, empowered women in retail supply chains through training in agriculture and factories, and promoted diversity and inclusion within supplier account teams supporting Walmart. Over the years, we’ve learned a lot about what works, what doesn’t, and what’s needed to accelerate progress.
I’d like to welcome you to our online Knowledge Center, where in the spirit of collaboration we’ll share our achievements, challenges and learnings. I invite you to use these resources as you continue in your own efforts to empower women, building shared value for your business and communities. Together, we can make an even greater difference.
