Our Aspiration
We seek to source in ways that serve customers, promote economic development, and create opportunities for suppliers and sellers, their employees, and their communities.
Relevance to Our Business and Society
Helping customers save money and live better depends on a strong supply base. Sourcing from a broad mix of suppliers — large and small, local and global — can improve assortment availability, relevance, and resilience while supporting jobs and economic development in the markets where we operate.
Providing Access to Customers and Markets
Opening pathways for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and producers to reach Walmart's global customer base—across our stores, clubs, and e-commerce channels.
- Walmart's stores, clubs, and e-commerce channels provide suppliers and sellers access to approximately 280 million customers each week across 19 countries.
- More than two-thirds of Walmart U.S. product spend was on items made, grown, or assembled in the United States. Local sourcing also represented a majority of product spend in Mexico (93%), China (92%), Chile (84%), and Canada (68%).
- Walmart has made cumulative incremental U.S. sourcing progress of $256 billion toward its 10-year goal to spend an incremental $350 billion on products made, grown, or assembled in the United States.
- Events around the world help suppliers and sellers reach new customers and expand into additional markets.
Building Capability and Readiness
Helping suppliers and sellers at different stages meet retail requirements, strengthen operations, and build resilience.
- Walmart U.S. and Sam's Club U.S. spent $67.4 billion with small suppliers in FY2026.
- Grow with US, a flagship component of the Small Business Program, organizes support for existing and prospective suppliers in three areas: learning through Walmart Academy; product proposals through the RangeMe discovery platform; and financing through Walmart’s Early Payment Program and the Bridge Marketplace. Supplier development programs across Mexico, India, Chile, and Central America provide training, mentoring, and business support. For instance, 115,000 participants have graduated from Walmart Vriddhi since 2019.
- Walmart also engages thousands of suppliers on topics such as energy, emissions mitigation, waste and circularity, nature, and the well-being of people working in product supply chains.
