Today marks the grand opening of not one, but four new Walmart Neighborhood Markets in the Monroe, Louisiana, area, giving residents plenty of new options for groceries – and nearly 400 people new jobs.
One associate, Ryan Alvarez, was only 16 years old when he started working for Walmart as a cart pusher. Fourteen years and a lot of hard work later, Ryan is now a store manager at one of the new Monroe locations.

is today, he achieved it by setting simple goals. Watch as he explains his
approach to climbing the ladder, one step at a time.
