ICYMI: From throwing customer birthday parties to launching two-day shipping, we’ve been working hard to make sure you’ve got a smile on your face.

“Extra, extra special.”

Geneva Kendrick turned 104 years old on Monday, and her friends at this Walmart store in Bryant, Arkansas, were there to make sure she celebrated in style. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as associates gifted Geneva with a cake, balloons, and even gifts. And they say that birthdays aren’t as fun when you get older!

Tops on the Grocery List
As today’s consumers continue the search for fresh, local and organic produce, Walmart continues to find ways to offer what they need – at the best value possible. That’s how we landed in the top three of The Daily Meal’s list of the best grocery stores in 2017. Stores were ranked based on their investments in the top trends that make an exceptional grocery shopping experience: technology and transparency.

A Little Help from My Friends
In a display of absolute preciousness, 6-year-old Carter from Wilmington, North Carolina, charmed an entire Sam’s Club when he marched around the register to help a cashier scan the items in his mom’s cart. He did such a great job that the store’s manager, Mike Russo, even presented Carter with a Sam’s Club vest, badge and buttons!

Vino Value
We’ve mentioned this wine before: Asda’s La Moneda Malbec Reserva 2015 from Chile that earned a rating of 95 from Britain’s leading wine journal, Decanter. For those of you who may not be familiar with the wine-scoring process (like me), that’s an “outstanding” – even more so when you realize that bottle is priced at a humble $6.96. Because Walmart sold through its initial U.S. allotment of this variety over the holidays, we’ll all have to quench our thirsts by reading about it instead. Check out this article in the Washington Post for the story on how it came to be.

Shipping … With Speed
Ask and you shall receive! This week, we announced free two-day shipping on orders $35 or more. The best part? You don’t need a membership to take advantage of this perk, and if your cart does amount to less, you can have your items shipped to your nearest Walmart with no additional cost.
