Walmart Makes Voice Shopping Even More Affordable with New Google Device

“Hey, Google, add baby wipes from Walmart to my cart.”

“Alright, your order history has 500-count Parent’s Choice Fragrance-Free Baby Wipes. I can get it from Walmart on Google Express for $8.97. Should I add that to your cart?”

“Yes.”

In late August, we announced that we’re partnering with Google to offer highly personalized voice shopping. I’m happy to share that we are now live on the platform so customers can shop more than 2 million Walmart items through voice. Today, Google announced the Google Home Mini, a voice-activated speaker that brings hands-free experiences, including shopping, to even more customers.

Everyone should have access to a virtual assistant, especially when it can be a tool to help make shopping more convenient. That’s one of the reasons why we’re excited about the launch of the Google Home Mini. With a price tag of $49, it offers an affordable option for consumers who want to experience how a voice assistant can help them with everyday tasks – from getting answers to hands-free shopping.

We want to make it even easier for customers to experience the convenience of voice shopping. Starting today, any customer who buys a Google Home or Google Home Mini from Walmart will receive up to $25 off* a Walmart order when they link their Walmart account to Google Express. By linking their accounts, customers save time and money by receiving recommendations based on their previous purchases made in Walmart stores and on Walmart.com.

So, what can you do with the time and money you’ll save by shopping Walmart using your Google Home? There’s one way to find out.

“Hey, Google…”
