The holiday season can be the happiest time of year for families, but for military families who have an empty seat at their table, it can also be the hardest. Our nation’s servicemen and women deserve our honor and respect every day, and this is especially true for the veterans buried in our national cemeteries. That’s why Wreaths Across America goes the extra mile – literally – to make sure these heroes are honored and remembered in December.

Walmart partners with Wreaths Across America each year to provide tractor-trailers, private fleet drivers and monetary donations for more than 80,000 wreaths to be hauled from Harrington, Maine, to cemeteries across the U.S. for wreath-laying ceremonies.

Walmart has long supported military families, and many of our truck drivers are veterans. We are proud to continue to be part of such an important effort to remember our service members and their families during the holiday season. Learn more about Wreaths Across America and see how you can volunteer at a wreath-laying ceremony in your area.

Editor’s Note: While this post was originally published in 2014, Walmart is proud to support Wreaths Across America for another year. The 2015 convoy of wreaths to Arlington National Cemetery began on Dec. 6 and is traveling down the East Coast, stopping at schools and memorials along the way. The escort will arrive at Arlington for National Wreaths Across America Day on Saturday, Dec. 12.
