If you had to choose between paying for food or putting gas in your car so you could get to work, which would you pick? What about food or medicine? Food or housing?
None of these decisions seem negotiable, but unfortunately they are everyday realities for the 1 in 7 Americans who rely on a Feeding America food bank. This organization has a network of locations around the country that are working hard to change this, but they need help – not just from volunteers like Dorena in this video, but also with donations of money and food.
As the nation’s largest grocer, Walmart is in a position to truly make a difference, and so we’ve made fighting hunger a priority for many years now. Last month, we launched Fight Hunger. Spark Change., a nationwide campaign calling on the public to join us. How? You can help direct $3 million in grants to participating Feeding America food banks and local partner agencies by voting online at walmart.com/fighthunger.
Through this initiative, 50 winning food banks will each receive a $60,000 grant to help serve the needs of their local communities. You can cast one vote per day, and voting ends this Sunday, Oct. 5.
There are only a few days left! Check it out and make your choice.
