Faces and Moments from Shareholders 2016

Shareholders 2016 was all about Walmart’s next chapter: reimagining retail through our 2.3 million associates and the customers and communities they serve.

As CEO Doug McMillon updated us on how the future of the company will come to life, he emphasized that one thing will remain the same – Walmart will remain a place of opportunity.

“As the world becomes more digital and we have such a focus on technology, it will be the humanity of Walmart, the associates of Walmart, who make us special,” Doug said. “It will be you.”

No one heard that better than Dwight Blanton from Walmart store 24 in Jacksonville, Arkansas, as he was surprised with a promotion to assistant store manager. Congratulations, Dwight!

See Dwight’s moment and a few from our host, comedian James Corden, as well as performers Nick Jonas, Andy Grammer, Jordan Smith and Maxwell.
