Our Promise This Holiday Season: Easier Shopping Every Day

Holiday 2013 Customer

When you shop Walmart this season, you’ll find our garden centers transformed into winter wonderlands, you’ll see festive recipes on Walmart.com and you’ll hear carols playing on Walmart Radio. It will feel so much like Christmas that even Santa will be there.

But I know that shopping can make the holidays anything but simple and enjoyable. It’s become a chaotic, frustrating, complicated game of figuring out how to get what you want at the best price. And for many people it’s just not fun anymore. That’s why we’re making holiday shopping easier for you every day.

We started by making investments this year that are helping us improve the customer experience. In February we pledged to raise wages for our associates, along with new career opportunities, training, scheduling and benefits – that’s a commitment of $2.7 billion over two years. Then, we began hiring an additional 8,000 department managers. What does this mean for you? More engaged associates with specific training who will take better care of you. After all, our people make the difference.

Walmart.com has opened three new eCommerce fulfillment centers since July. We’re expanding our network to get us even closer to you. Whether you choose to have your order delivered to your door or to a store for free Pickup as fast as same-day, we’re ready to deliver.

We expect nearly 75% of traffic to Walmart.com to come from mobile this holiday season. More of you are shopping on mobile and love the convenience of in-store Pickup. So, this month we’re launching new features in the Walmart app, including Mobile Check-In and Wish Lists. In some cities, you can even order your groceries online and we’ll load your car for you.

We’ve been taking these steps – and many more – to provide you with an improved shopping experience in our Walmart stores, Neighborhood Markets and on Walmart.com.

We can’t wait to serve you this season – happy holidays!
