Curious how cycling is being integrated into the future Walmart campus? At a local event last week, Dan Bartlett, executive vice president of corporate affairs, gave a preview of the biking goals envisioned for the new Home Office.

The event, hosted by the Bentonville Chamber of Commerce, is an annual fundraiser for a local nonprofit that brings together cycling enthusiasts to engage in the community and grow their professional networks.

This year’s featured cyclist, Dan spoke about the robust biking culture in Northwest Arkansas and how Walmart plans to integrate that culture into the new Home Office. One example: Each neighborhood on the new campus will have bike storage, showers and changing rooms. The idea is to encourage healthier transportation choices that will reduce traffic and parking strains and support the well-being of the greater community.

Our new campus “will be one of the most bike-friendly alternative transportation campuses in the country,” Dan told the group.
