Donation will support the Dress for Success Tulsa career service center
Tulsa (September 8, 2014) – Recently, the Walmart Foundation provided a $30,000 grant to Dress for Success Tulsa through the Foundation’s State Giving Program in order to assist with the supply of professional attire, a network of support and career development tools. Specifically, this grant will positively impact the local community by providing training materials and supplies to clients and education training workshops for staff and volunteers.
“This phenomenal contribution from the Walmart Foundation will ensure we are able to continue serving women in need,” said Ronda Adkisson, executive director of Dress for Success Tulsa. “It’s incredibly fulfilling to see women become financially independent, and the grant will go far towards supporting our programs and career development efforts.”
Dress for Success Tulsa relies on the financial contributions, in-kind donations and volunteer efforts of individuals and companies around the world who are committed to helping women take charge of their lives.
“At the Walmart Foundation, we understand that organizations such as Dress for Success Tulsa are essential to building stronger communities. The Walmart Foundation’s State Giving Program supports organizations that create opportunities so people can live better, awarding grants that have a long-lasting, positive impact on communities across the U.S.
To be considered for support, prospective grantee organizations must submit applications through the Walmart Foundation State Giving Program’s online grant application. Applicants must have a current 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status in order to meet the program’s minimum eligibility criteria.
