CHANDLER, Ariz., Aug. 21, 2013 – The first Chandler Walmart Neighborhood Market will open its doors to shoppers on Wednesday, August 28th. The celebration will get underway at 7:30 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The new store is located at 6085 W. Chandler Blvd. at the southwest corner of Chandler Boulevard and Kyrene Road. The new store employs about 95 associates, a mix of full- and part-time.
"That corner has struggled for more than four years without an anchor tenant, and we expect that reusing the vacant space for grocery will revitalize the shopping center," said City of Chandler Economic Development Specialist James Smith.
The Chandler Walmart Neighborhood Market offers quick and convenient shopping, with a full-grocery department, including organic and natural selections. The store features prepared food options, fresh-baked breads, self-serve deli and a bakery.
The new store will be open 24 hours a day to provide local customers with a convenient option for their grocery shopping needs and pharmacy services.
Community Giving
The grand-opening celebration will include $8,000 in grant presentations from Walmart and the Walmart Foundation to local community groups including Arizona Cardinals player Robert Tate's Foundation, the RT Dyslexia Foundation.
Pharmacy
The pharmacy offers customers health and wellness solutions with a full range of products and services. The Pharmacist and pharmacy associates are available answer product and prescription questions.
