GREENVILLE, N.C., June 26, 2013 – A new Walmart will open Wednesday, July 17, after a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:30 a.m. The new store at 4600 E. 10th St. is conveniently located near Portertown Road and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It will provide Greenville residents with one-stop shopping convenience for their grocery and general merchandise needs. The store also offers pharmacy services. The Greenville Walmart is one of 24 Walmart stores opening across the country on July 17th.
"For a large portion of our population this means a choice," said Greenville Mayor Allen Thomas. "Rather than traversing down Greenville Boulevard, they now can shop at this new state-of-the-art facility serving Greenville, Pitt and surrounding counties.
"This project is the result of a great deal of work and effort, and I am thankful of the decision to commit to this project during challenging economic times, betting on Greenville to be on the front edge of the improving economy," Thomas added.
One-Stop Shopping Convenience
The store features quality, value-priced general merchandise, including apparel, electronics, toys, sporting goods, and lawn and garden items. It also offers a full line of groceries, including organic and natural selections in addition to local favorites. Some local products available include Uncle Yammy's BBQ Sauce, Mt. Olive Pickles, Bass Farms Sausage, Annie's Frozen Pastry, and Star Pimiento Cheese Spread.
The pharmacy offers a full range of products and services. Pharmacy team members can answer product and prescription questions and customers can ask about health and wellness solutions.

"To the citizens of Greenville this means employment: 300 jobs for full- and part-time employees with benefits," Thomas said. "The community is excited about this day and ready to open the doors."
A Big Family Welcome
Walmart is happy to be part of the Greenville community and is ready to celebrate with residents Saturday, July 20.
