New Walmart provides approximately 200 jobs, plus savings on wide selection of merchandise

ORLANDO, Fla., June 3, 2013 – A new Walmart will open Wednesday, June 12, after a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:30 a.m. The new store at 5734 S. Orange Blossom Trail is conveniently located at Oak Ridge Road and Orange Blossom Trail and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It will provide Orlando residents with one-stop shopping convenience for their grocery and general merchandise needs. The Orlando store is one of 17 Walmart stores opening in communities across the United States on June 12.
"Walmart has been a great community partner to Central Florida and the residents of District 6 are excited about the opening of the new store," said Tiffany Moore Russell, District 6 Commissioner. "This store will bring healthy food options to a much need community and job opportunities for the residents in the community. This project is a win-win for everyone."
One-Stop Shopping Convenience
The store features quality, value-priced general merchandise, including apparel, electronics, toys, sporting goods, and lawn and garden items. It also offers a full line of groceries, including organic and natural selections, in addition to local favorites.
The pharmacy offers a full range of products and services. Pharmacy team members can answer product and prescription questions and offer health and wellness solutions.
The grand-opening celebration also includes presentations of $4,000 in grants from Walmart and the Walmart Foundation to local community groups.

New Store, New Jobs
The new store employs approximately 200 full- and part-time associates. Store manager Richard Mroczka began his Walmart career in 1996 as an hourly associate in the garden center in a store in Dickson City, Pa.
"We are excited about welcoming our neighbors to their new Walmart," said Mroczka. "We are pleased to bring good jobs and everyday low prices on a wide selection of merchandise to our community, and we hope everyone will stop by to see the new store during our grand-opening festivities."
