PRINCETON, N.C., April 18, 2013 – A new Walmart Express store will open Wednesday, May 8, in Princeton, bringing the community everyday low prices in a smaller format store. The new store is designed to make shopping quick and easy for area customers who want to save money and find what they need close to home. The new Walmart Express store is located at 509 Dr. Donnie H. Jones Jr. Blvd. W. and includes a gas station.
“The Walmart Express store is a new tool for the company to provide convenience for our customers,” said store manager Randy Galloway, who has lived in the area for 40 years and started his Walmart career 25 years ago at the Goldsboro store. “It means residents can take care of their everyday needs, including pharmacy and fuel, without having to drive out of town.”
The approximately 12,000-square-foot Walmart Express store features a pharmacy and offers groceries and general merchandise, including an assortment of fresh produce, dairy and meats, dry goods, consumables, health and beauty aids, over-the-counter medicines and more.
The store will also include Site-to-Store, a free service that allows customers to ship online orders from www.walmart.com free to any Walmart store for pickup.
“The Town of Princeton has put forth considerable time and resources in recent years to improve infrastructure to allow both residential and commercial growth,” said Mayor Donald Rains. “Having an international company such as Walmart choosing to invest in Princeton validates these efforts, while improving our town economy and providing more than 30 new jobs to our citizens.”
Ribbon-Cutting Celebration at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 8
Rains and other community leaders will join Walmart associates at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, for a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new store.
