BENSON, N.C., March 6, 2013 – A new Walmart Express store will open Wednesday, March 20, in Benson, bringing the community everyday low prices in a smaller format store. The new store is designed to make shopping quick and easy for area customers who want to save money and find what they need close to home. The new Walmart Express store is located at 702 S. Wall St. and includes a gas station.
“The new Walmart Express store will be a place for Benson residents to fulfill their everyday grocery and pharmacy needs in a clean, friendly, convenient location,” said store manager Dale Ennis, who started his Walmart career 11 years ago as an overnight support associate at a store in Dunn. “It also means residents can get fuel without having to drive out of town.”
The approximately 12,000-square-foot Walmart Express store features a pharmacy and offers groceries and general merchandise, including an assortment of fresh produce, dairy and meats, dry goods, consumables, health and beauty aids, over-the-counter medicines and more.
The store will also include Site-to-Store, a free service that allows customers to ship online orders from www.walmart.com free to any Walmart store for pickup.
“It is exciting to see Benson growing, and I’m glad to see Walmart being a part of that growth,” said Benson Mayor William Massengill. “The addition of approximately 30 new jobs to our community is a great benefit.”
“Local residents will benefit from purchasing items at Walmart.com and having them directly shipped to the Benson Walmart Express, saving the cost of driving out of town to make purchases,” Massengill added.
Ribbon-Cutting Celebration at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 20
Massengill and other community leaders will join Walmart associates at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, for a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new store.
