SOUTH JORDAN, Utah, March 4, 2013 – A new Walmart will open on Wednesday, March 13 after a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:30 a.m. The new store at 3590 W. South Jordan Parkway is conveniently located off Bangerter Highway and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It will provide South Jordan residents with one-stop shopping convenience for their grocery and general merchandise needs. The store also offers pharmacy services.
One-Stop Shopping Convenience
The store features quality, value-priced general merchandise, including apparel, electronics, toys, sporting goods, and lawn and garden items. It also offers a full line of groceries, including organic and natural selections in addition to local favorites. Some local products available include Sweets Candy, Price’s Containers, and Pax Fertilizer.
The pharmacy offers a full range of products and services. Pharmacy team members can answer product and prescription questions and offer health and wellness solutions.
Community Giving
The grand-opening celebration also includes presentations of $5,000 in grants from Walmart and the Walmart Foundation to local community groups. Recipients include the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Boys & Girls Club, DARE program and South Jordan Fire Department.
New Store, New Jobs
The new store employs approximately 280 full- and part-time associates. Store manager Jessica Brooks began her Walmart career in 2000 as an assistant manager.
“My team has worked very hard to open this new store,” said store manager Jessica Brooks. “We are excited to bring great prices to the South Jordan community and we invite everyone to come and see us.”
