Walmart Neighborhood Market Coming to Bentonville

I Street store will bring approximately 65 additional jobs

Bentonville, Ark., Feb. 25, 2013 – Walmart has announced a new Neighborhood Market for Bentonville with new job opportunities and increased community access to affordable and healthier food options. The new Neighborhood Market, located at the northwest corner of I Street and Highway 12, will create approximately 65 jobs and is scheduled to open in the fall of 2013.

“We all want the best services and businesses in Bentonville,” said Bentonville Mayor Bob McCaslin. “That’s why we are excited to announce that the city is working with Walmart to bring a Neighborhood Market to I street, and better serve the needs of our growing community.”

The new Neighborhood Market in Bentonville will be approximately 41,000 square feet and will feature a wide variety of products, including fresh produce, meats and dairy products, frozen foods, dry goods and staples, a pharmacy, deli foods, bakery items, canned and packaged goods, condiments and spices, pet supplies and household supplies – all at Walmart’s famous Every Day Low Prices.

“Walmart is enthusiastic about this opportunity in a community where thousands of our associates live and work,” Walmart Vice President of Real Estate Brian Hooper said. “We are thankful for the vision of Mayor McCaslin and the Bentonville City Council and their help in welcoming a new store, so everyone can save money and live better.”

The Bentonville Walmart Neighborhood Market will include energy-efficient technology and environmentally friendly features to reduce energy and water consumption and minimize waste. Features often include LED lighting used in exterior signage and refrigeration cases, an energy management system for adjusting energy usage and one of the industry’s most efficient heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) units available.
