Humana Walmart-Preferred Rx Plan offers new, low-cost options in 2013

LOUISVILLE, Ky. & BENTONVILLE, Ark.– Nov. 7, 2012— With annual enrollment now under way for 2013 Medicare plans, Humana Inc. Starting in 2013, members of the Humana Walmart-Preferred Rx Plan will have access to 10 hypertension drugs for $0.01 each when filled at one of the 4,400 Walmart or Sam’s Club pharmacy locations.

"A recent study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention[1] found that close to 70 percent of Medicare beneficiaries aged 65 and older have hypertension,” said William Fleming, Pharm. D., president of Humana Pharmacy Solutions. “This statistic underscores the importance of offering affordable, high quality prescription drugs to baby boomers and other beneficiaries as part of the Humana Walmart-Preferred Rx Plan.”
