Renovated store offers customers big savings with small grocery format
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark., May 17, 2010 – The Walmart Neighborhood Market located at 2690 E. Citizens Drive in Fayetteville will celebrate a grand re-opening this week. Doors to the store will open at 7:30 a.m., Friday, May 21, following a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“This new Neighborhood Market will bring so much to the community in terms of new jobs, increased shopping opportunities for the people who live in this part of Fayetteville and support for local charities,” said store manager Jeanette Dirienzo.
Fresh Foods and Familiar Brands
The 40,000-square-foot store will carry a full line of groceries, including fresh produce, frozen foods, meat and dairy products and organic items. The deli offers hot rotisserie chicken, made-to-order sandwiches and pizza by the slice. An expanded deli area offers a wide variety of meats, cheeses and freshly prepared foods, including a soup bar. Customers can pick up cakes and breads in the bakery.
“This store will give local residents a quick and easy shopping option for groceries in Fayetteville,” said Dirienzo. “Our customers are really going to like the convenience of our expanded deli and all the prepared foods we will offer.”
Store Provides 118 Local Jobs
The renovated store created an additional 40 jobs during the remodel and will employ approximately 118 associates. “We’re proud to bring good jobs with career opportunities to the area,” said Dirienzo.
Grand Re-opening Activities Include Support for Local Organizations
The grand re-opening celebration is scheduled for Friday, May 21, and will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:30 a.m. During the ceremony, store associates will present grants from the Walmart Foundation to various local service organizations, including the Northside Rotary Club of Fayetteville. Past Rotary President Travis Fink will accept a $1,000 donation on behalf of the Angel Kidney Fund, Inc.
The Walmart Neighborhood Market team has been outstanding to work with over the years, Fink said.
“They are truly community focused and go above and beyond to provide assistance to folks in need. The management team has an outward focus that has helped a countless number of kids and families in NWA. Specifically, Jeanette and Jackie have partnered with Northside Fayetteville Rotary to provide meals for underprivileged kids throughout our area,” he said. “Additionally, they have partnered with Northside and the Angel Kidney Fund to provide emergency grants for Arkansans battling kidney disease.”
