Trade Territory

Wal-Mart serves more than 49 million international customers weekly in 13 markets outside the continental U.S.

In August 2007, Wal-Mart announced an agreement with Bharti Enterprises to establish a joint venture, Bharti Wal-Mart Private Limited, for wholesale cash-and-carry and back-end supply chain management operations in India. The first wholesale facility in India is targeted to open in 2008.

77.1 billion – 30.2 percent increase over the previous year.

Operating profit was $4.2 billion, an increase of 21.5 percent compared to the previous fiscal year.

For the month of December 2007, $11.9 billion – an increase of 18.2 percent over the same period last year.

For the third quarter ending 10/31/07: $22.4 billion – a 16.9 percent increase over the same period last year. Operating income was $1.08 billion for the quarter, an increase of 8.6 percent over the same period last year.
