In August 2007, Wal-Mart announced an agreement with Bharti Enterprises to establish a joint venture, Bharti Wal-Mart Private Limited, for wholesale cash-and-carry and back-end supply chain management operations in India. The first wholesale facility in India is targeted to open in 2008.

Total International Sales FYE 1/31/07: 77.1 billion – 30.2 percent increase over the previous year. Operating profit was $4.2 billion, an increase of 21.5 percent compared to the previous fiscal year.
For the month of October 2007, $7.18 billion – a 19.2 percent increase over the same period last year.
For the third quarter ending 10/31/07: $22.4 billion – a 16.9 percent increase over the same period last year. Operating income was $1.08 billion for the quarter, an increase of 8.6 percent over the same period last year.
