BENTONVILLE, Ark., November 10, 2006 – Wal-Mart today announced the largest rollback initiative for small home appliances in the company’s history, continuing a drive to provide the most affordable start to the Christmas shopping season. This is the third set of rollbacks in a series of price cuts on thousands of holiday items.
At Wal-Mart, shoppers will discover rollbacks on nearly 50 home appliances from trusted brands, including GE, Hoover and Sharp. From stainless steel microwaves to programmable coffee makers, the right appliances make it easy to prepare a delicious holiday meal and add style to any kitchen.
“During the holiday season, our shoppers increasingly turn to the home goods aisles for entertaining and gift ideas,” says Paul Beahm, senior vice president in home merchandising, Wal-Mart. “Wal-Mart is providing families the solutions they want, when they need them most, and at the best values.”
Featured merchandise, rolled back through the holiday season, includes the GE SELECT edition microwave (was $98/now $84), which is exclusively available at Wal-Mart and Walmart.com. Other items on rollback include:
- Hoover fusion cyclonic upright vacuum (was $112/now $98)
- Mr. Coffee 12-cup programmable coffee maker (was $42.48/now $37.88) and espresso maker (was $29.86/now $24.88)
- Sharp .08 cubic foot black microwave (was $54.88/now $49.88)
- GE 1.1 cubic foot microwave (was $64.72/now $59.88)
- Black & Decker Quick ‘N Easy 8-cup food processor (was $29.72/now $24.88)
Wal-Mart will continue to roll back the prices of toys, electronics, apparel and more this holiday season to ensure that shoppers can find the season’s best merchandise at one destination at the great prices.
