Wal-Mart's Metro 7 Collection Comes to Miami's South Beach

Retailer’s Exclusive Collection will be Showcased in Temporary Beachfront Location

BENTONVILLE, Ark., April 25, 2006 – Wal-Mart announced today that it will open the Metro 7 Fashion Cabana, its first pop-up outlet, in Miami’s trendy South Beach district. The store will be positioned on the beach itself at 11th Street and Ocean Drive and will be open to the public from Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29 from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.

The 6000-square-foot tent will house the entire Metro 7 collection of apparel, accessories and footwear.  All sales from the three-day event will benefit a local charity, the Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis, founded by NFL Hall of Fame member Nick Buoniconti.

Metro 7 is Wal-Mart’s premier fashion collection and is available at select Wal-Mart stores and on Walmart.com.  The collection launched in October and is designed with the highly stylish, fashion-conscious customer in mind.  The Metro 7 line features on-trend items with contemporary-tailored outfits and stylishly casual weekend pieces that reflect the latest colors, fabrics and styles—all at a great price.

Dayanara Torres, former Miss Universe, actress and mother -- and one-time Miami resident -- has represented the line since its launch, and has appeared in Metro 7 ads in Vogue magazine.  She will greet customers at a personal appearance in the Fashion Cabana on Thursday, April 27.In addition to the personal appearance by Ms. Torres, the Metro 7 Fashion Cabana will host performances by recording artists such as Voz a Voz, Jeremias, and RBD.
