The town of Pass Christian, along the hurricane-ravaged Mississippi coast, received a Halloween festival on Saturday, October 29th, courtesy of Wal-Mart. The local store associates brought out pumpkins for painting, and plenty of moon jumps and inflatables, to give the kids a happy Halloween in a town where trick-or-treating this year could not happen for many.
Wal-Mart also provided 1,000 costumes for the kids, who wore them to the party. "Good Morning America" helped to host the party as Robin Roberts, a resident of Pass Christian, spent the day talking to residents and inspiring hope.
"We new we could make a difference and wanted to give the kids something special -- we are all a part of this community and together we all will recover and rebuild," said Wal-Mart District Manager Brian Thomas.
