More than 500 people from the Phoenix-area including Unilever employees, Wal-Mart Associates, school children, Boys and Girls Clubs, non-profit groups, and Phoenix-area businesses will join in the national effort to preserve our nation’s parks.
Volunteers of all ages will work to complete important projects including trail clean-up, marsh clean-up and other beautification projects around Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine.
Wal-Mart is committed to community stewardship and service. The National Parks America Tour is a volunteer-driven initiative designed to help protect America’s 388 National Parks for generations to come. This year’s Tour will enable Wal-Mart volunteers and communities to assist National Parks in completing important projects where traditional funding and park resources are void - resulting in an in-kind manpower donation of over 100,000 volunteer hours and $1.6 million dollars.
