Marybeth Hays is executive vice president of consumables and health and wellness for Walmart U.S. She is responsible for leading the company’s merchandising strategies across a number of categories, including baby, household paper goods and chemicals, pets, personal care, beauty and health and Wellness (pharmacy, optical, clinics and over-the-counter).
Marybeth has held a variety of leadership roles in the Walmart’s U.S., Sam’s Club and International divisions. Most recently, she served as the chief merchandising, marketing and supply chain officer for Walmart China, where she oversaw the company’s efforts to buy, promote and deliver high-quality products to customers at Walmart’s 420 retail stores in China.
Prior to that, she served as senior vice president and general merchandising manager for Walmart U.S. in the home and ladieswear categories. She transitioned to Walmart U.S. in 2012 after more than two years with Sam’s Club as senior vice president and general merchandise manager of home and apparel.
Marybeth is a proud breast cancer survivor and is highly engaged in the cancer community, including the Cancer Challenge. She is a member of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Board, the Walmart Foundation Board of Directors and the Board of Visitors of the School of Business at Wake Forest University.
She received her master of business administration and bachelor of arts degrees from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
