Dave Ferguson is Walmart’s vice president of digital solutions and data science for the Global Governance organization. He leads the development and implementation of global systems and technology solutions, as well as initiatives for data infrastructure, data trust and advanced analytics to support risk reduction and improved program effectiveness.

Prior to his current role, Dave led the systems and analytics, continuous improvement and training functions for both the Walmart U.S. and International business segments. In addition, he provided oversight for several of the company’s U.S.-based compliance teams, including Financial Services, Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Weights and Measures, Health and Wellness, and the Licensing department.

Prior to joining Walmart 12 years ago, Dave spent 23 years in the retail industry, including 11 years at Saks Incorporated where he held the positions of chief ethics and compliance officer and vice president of loss prevention and business continuity. Dave also held various positions of increasing responsibility in asset protection, safety and risk management at Roses Stores, Target, Kohl’s and Macy's.

Dave holds a bachelor of arts degree from Michigan State University and a master of business administration degree from Colorado State University.
