Brandi Joplin serves as senior vice president, chief financial officer, at Sam’s Club, a leading membership warehouse club. In this role, Brandi leads a team of associates working across controllership, finance, merchandise planning and FP&A, as they fuel Sam’s Club’s journey to become the most trusted membership.


Before joining Sam’s Club in 2019, Brandi served as senior vice president, chief audit executive for Walmart. In that role, she was responsible for leading a global team that provided assurance on the effectiveness of risk management and the adequacy of the control environment across all of Walmart’s businesses. Prior to that position, she served as vice president, international controller. Brandi joined Walmart in March 2009 as vice president, global internal audit services, North America, and was a member of the Women’s Officer Caucus Leadership Committee from 2010 to 2019.


Prior to Walmart, Brandi worked for Alltel Corporation, a Fortune 500 telecommunications company that was ultimately acquired by its competitors. During her 14-year tenure, she served in a variety of management roles within the Alltel Finance organization, including vice president, accounting and finance, and vice president, internal audit. Brandi worked for Arthur Andersen LLP earlier in her career.


Brandi graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark., with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She serves on the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Foundation board and the Walmart Foundation board of directors, as well as the Dean’s Advisory Board at The Sam M. Walton College of Business and the Data Science Advisory Council for the University of Arkansas. Brandi is also a member of the Young Men’s Service League with her son.
