As Chief Merchant for Walmart U.S. eCommerce, Ashley leads efforts to build the first-party merchandise assortment on Walmart.com, Jet, Hayneedle, Moosejaw, Bare Necessities, Shoes.com and Art.com. He also is responsible for bringing an omni-channel approach to the company’s digital brand portfolio, including the new brands incubation team that is working on exciting additions to the omni portfolio.
Prior to joining the U.S. eCommerce team, Ashley was the Chief Merchant at Sam’s Club. While there he led a combined club and eCommerce Merchandising team, and oversaw all merchandising activities including assortment and private brand strategy, pricing, global sourcing, packaging, replenishment and supply chain. Under his leadership, Sam's Club simplified its merchandising strategy and prioritized creating a curated assortment of high-quality items.
Before moving to Sam's Club in 2017, Ashley served as the Senior Vice President of Packaged Goods for Walmart U.S. He joined Walmart in 2007 as Director of Innovations for Walmart U.S. In May 2010, Ashley was promoted to Vice President of Innovations and later that year he moved to the grocery team where he served in various leadership roles for the next six years.
Ashley also held multiple finance positions at Dell and worked five years in retail consulting for Accenture. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance and real estate as well as a Master of Business Administration from Baylor University.
