Belonging Begins with Us

We have a vision of a workplace culture at Walmart and Sam’s Club where everyone is included – one where associates with unique identities, styles, experiences, abilities and perspectives are understood, supported and championed by their leaders. Our commitment is to continually create this kind of culture through intentional actions that reflect our values of Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence in order to ensure that our associates feel like they belong. We believe that belonging is a catalyst to empower our diverse workforce to reach their potential every day and to engage associates in our shared purpose of saving people money so they can live better.

We support this through a holistic strategy that includes activating our culture across the enterprise; integrating the principles of Culture, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion into every facet of the associate life cycle; building an inclusive brand both inside and outside of our company; increasing equity and accessibility within our business; and modernizing the measurements we use to report our progress.

Walmart Celebrates Black Health Heroes
Throughout Black History Month, we’re highlighting the health and wellness trailblazers and nonprofits that are prioritizing health in communities around the country. We are celebrating the voices that have made — and are still making — important strides in these major health categories: Physical Health, Mental Health, Maternal Health and Dietary/Food Access.

Our Approach

Our work relies upon the coordination and collaboration of teams from across our business – Culture, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Walmart.org, Constituent Relations, Supplier Inclusion, Marketing and other functions – to create a consistent and cohesive inclusive experience for our associates, customers, members, suppliers, grantees, community partners and other stakeholders.
