Answering Your Questions
COVID-19 U.S. Fact Sheet
Administering COVID-19 Vaccines
We are now administering COVID-19 vaccines at Walmart and Sam’s Club pharmacies in partnership with federal and local governments. Walmart is proud to be selected by CDC as part of their U.S. Federal Retail Pharmacy Program to help administer COVID-19 vaccines in communities around the United States. We also have agreements in place with several states and jurisdictions and are administering vaccines in partnership with them.
Fully vaccinated associates are not required to wear masks while working in any Walmart or Sam’s Club facility, unless required by a state or local mandate or ordinance. In these counties and where there are state or local mask mandates, associates will be required to wear masks inside our facilities, including stores, clubs, distribution centers, fulfillment centers and our campus offices. We will continue to monitor the situation and advise of any changes. Fully vaccinated means they have received the full two-dose regimen of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine
, or the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Facility Management will also post signage at our stores and clubs to remind customers and members about the CDC’s revised guidance and strongly encourage them to wear masks or face coverings.
N95 Mask Distribution
Over the next few weeks, we will be distributing N95 masks free of charge at more than 5,100 Walmart and Sam’s Club locations as part of the U.S. Federal Retail Pharmacy Program. Masks will be available to individuals, limited to three masks per person. You can pick up your masks at the front of stores, and in clubs, by following signage to help you locate masks and find resources to help you understand proper fitting. At Sam’s Club locations, the general public may get their free masks while supplies allow without a membership.
Sanitation and Social Distancing
The health and safety of our associates, customers and communities continues to guide all our decisions.
For the foreseeable future, we will continue with most of the measures currently in place – such as enhanced cleaning routines, including spraying carts after use and keeping plastic shields at our registers. We will continue to follow all state and local government mandates covering our stores.
All stores have resumed our standard return policy for new purchases, subject to certain restrictions based on state or local ordinances that remain applicable, such as in New Jersey.
No-Contact Pickup & Delivery
You can order groceries from us online or in our app anytime. One of our associates will pick your order and bring it out to the curb when you arrive. This is a great way to maintain social distance.
- Pickup: No-contact pickup is now available. You’ll no longer have to sign for your order. An associate will simply put your order in your trunk / car.
- Delivery: Our drivers are practicing social distancing: when picking up your order at the store, they’ll stay in the car while an associate loads the order into their vehicle. You can also authorize the driver to simply leave the order at your doorstep rather than having to sign for it.

Order Delays and Cancellations
There are millions of people ordering online right now, so you might encounter delays, cancellations or longer wait times during pickup. We understand how frustrating that may be and assure you that we’re doing our best to serve as many customers as possible. We’ll keep you updated via email, text message, website and mobile app to alert you of any potential delays or increased wait times at your store.
Your health and our associates’ health are top priority. Anyone who thinks they may have COVID-19 related symptoms, illness or concerns should stay home, including our associates. We’ve set a new policy to support any associate who may be affected by the virus—including paid leave for those who are required to self-quarantine. You can read more about what we’re doing for our associates here.
Throughout the pandemic, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation have committed $43 million in cash and in-kind donations to help organizations on the front lines respond to COVID-19. These contributions have strengthened the global public health response, bolstered food security and supported the needs of local communities in the U.S. and internationally. Learn more here.
