Our communities are counting on us to be there for them right now. Our teams, from the supply chain to our stores, are working incredibly hard to provide the world with the essential products and services they need most during this time. This remains a rapidly evolving situation, and our focus is on the health and welfare of our associates, customers, and partners around the world. We are in close communication with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as other health organizations, and are following their guidelines as well as the advice of our own Chief Medical Officer.
There are no words to express how proud we are of our associates who are keeping their communities going. They’re working with unprecedented speed and efficiency to provide vital services. In early March, we implemented an emergency COVID-19 leave policy for associates who are unable to work or uncomfortable at work. We also temporarily adjusted our operating hours to ensure our associates are able to stock the products our customers are looking for, as well as to perform cleaning and sanitizing. And, as a way of staying thank you for their hard work, we offered a special cash bonus to all hourly associates and assistant managers, as well as an early payout of the company first quarter bonus.
We continue to implement additional measures to help our associates and customers stay safe and healthy.
