Chad Donath is the senior vice president of operations for Walmart International. In this role, he oversees a broad spectrum of operations, including supply chain, real estate, regeneration, leverage and indirect spend management. His team partners with Walmart’s international markets to develop strategies and support efficient implementation in these key areas to deliver for customers around the world.

Chad is a 35-year Walmart associate, who started as a maintenance cart lot associate at Store 633 in Kewanee, Illinois. From there, he built a career, immersing himself in the fundamentals of retail operations, navigating the field leadership ranks throughout Illinois, then moving to the corporate offices in 2007. Chad spent the next five years leading various operations support teams in store planning, innovations and customer experience, where he focused on delivering practical solutions to operate our U.S. stores while cultivating a broader strategic perspective to drive the business forward.

In 2012, Chad was promoted to vice president, regional general manager, for store operations in Southern California, Hawaii and Alaska, where he led multi-unit field leadership teams, supporting more than 40,000 frontline associates. During his time on the West Coast, Chad transformed the talent landscape through early talent identification and accelerated development of future leaders. In this role, he also helped introduce Neighborhood Markets in California, establishing an even stronger store footprint in the state. He most recently served Sam’s Club as the senior vice president of asset protection, omni-fraud, real estate, and operations transformation and support.
