P. Todd Harbaugh
Executive Vice President, Operations for U.S. and Puerto Rico, Sam’s Club
Todd Harbaugh is executive vice president of operations for Sam’s Club, a division of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (Walmart). He joined Walmart in 1990 as an assistant manager and has held a variety of leadership positions in store operations, including co-manager, store manager, district manager, operations coordinator, regional manager, and regional vice president where he led all Walmart stores in the Northeast.
Todd joined Sam’s Club in 2003 as vice president of business member services, where he had responsibility for samsclub.com, road shows, truckload sales, exports and the call center. In 2005, Todd moved to replenishment, and in 2006, he was promoted to senior vice president of inventory management, supply chain, pricing, planning and execution. In 2008 Todd was promoted to senior vice president and chief integration officer, facilitating collaborative transition planning while designing processes to better align operations, merchandising, membership and marketing. Todd’s most recent role was executive vice president of operations.
In his 20-year career with the company, Todd has been recognized for his leadership, being named district manager of the year twice and regional vice president of the month nine times. He has been honored with the Sam M. Walton Hero Award, the Robert L. Hart Community Outreach Award, the David Glass Leadership in Technology Award, and he was a finalist for the 2008 Sam M. Walton Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Todd has also completed Global Leadership 2020 at the Dartmouth College Tuck School of Business, the Prince of Wales Business & Sustainability Programme at Cambridge University, and Global Strategy at Harvard Business School.
Todd is currently a board member for the National Organization on Disability, where he is a member of the Executive Committee; a board member for the Northwest Arkansas Community College; and a board member of the Walmart Foundation.
Earlier in his career, Todd served in the U.S. Navy for three years on active duty. Following active duty, Todd served three years in the Army National Guard.
