Michele joined Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc., a global professional services and consulting firm, in March 2006 and served as its executive vice president and CFO until September 2006, when she became chairman and CEO. She is the retired chairman and CEO of Mercer LLC, a subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc.
She is the former executive vice president, CFO, and chief restructuring officer of Mirant Corporation, an energy company, where she served from 2004 to 2006. She was executive vice president and CFO of Delta Air Lines, Inc., from 2000 through 2004. She has also served as a director of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., since 2011 and of Cisco Systems, Inc., since 2003.
