Maarten Jager joined Sam’s Club as senior vice president and chief financial officer in July 2015. He is responsible for all finance functions, including strategy, financial planning and analysis, member, merchandise, operations and accounting and controls.

Maarten joined Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (Walmart) in 2014, most recently leading Walmart Asia's finance function as SVP and chief financial officer. He brings more than 20 years of corporate strategy and finance leadership to Walmart, including seven years at Diageo North America, as SVP of finance for supply chain and SVP of global business support, N.A. focused on strategy, business performance management, corporate development and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to Diageo, Maarten was a vice president and partner with Booz, Allen Hamilton, Inc. in both the U.S. and Europe. He started his career as a design engineer at General Electric Aircraft Engines.

Maarten earned a master's degree in business administration from the University of Chicago, a master of science in engineering from Stanford University and a bachelor of science in engineering from the University of Michigan. Maarten and his wife, Diane, have two children.
