First Lady Michelle Obama Speaks at Business Roundtable

March 13, 2013 -- As part of her Joining Forces initiative, First Lady Michelle Obama delivered remarks to the quarterly meeting of member CEOs of the Business Roundtable. She was introduced by Walmart CEO Mike Duke and thanked Walmart for our commitment to hire veterans.

Honoring our Nation's Veterans

We salute America’s heroes. And we are honored to have the opportunity to employ them, to learn from them, and to support them and their families in every way we can.

Through career training and job opportunities, we're helping prepare our troops for successful professional lives both during and after their service in the military.

Walmart's "Welcome Home" Commitment to Hire 100,000 Veterans

Beginning Memorial Day 2013, Walmart will offer a job to any honorably discharged veteran within his or her first 12 months off active duty. We believe Walmart is already the largest private employer of veterans. And we want to hire more. We project that we'll hire more than 100,000 veterans over the next five years. Learn more
