Our goal is to sell products that sustain people and the environment
Walmart believes no family should have to choose between products that are more sustainable and products they can afford. We’re committed to working with suppliers, government and non-governmental organizations to make the products we sell better and more affordable for everyone.
We’re committed to forming direct partnerships between farmers and markets, reducing food waste, motivating farmers to optimize production and sustainably sourcing key agricultural products.
We’ve started integrating the Sustainability Index – a new retail standard that will assess and improve the sustainability of our products – into our business.
Walmart U.S. and Sam’s Club require all fresh and frozen, farmed and wild seafood suppliers to become third-party certified as sustainable.
We’re committed to helping farmers in developing countries build sustainable businesses that improve the products we sell, positively impact the environment and influence their communities.
